Quinn grew up in the Bay Area where he was first exposed to physical therapy over 30 years ago.  Following his interests in anatomy and biomechanics, Quinn graduated with high honors from California State University, Hayward in 1991 with his BS in Athletic Training/Clinical Exercise.  He received the "Outstanding Student of the Year Award" simultaneously and was accepted into the physical therapy program at California State University, Northridge.  Again receiving high honors, he graduated in 1993 with his post-graduate degree in Physical Therapy.  

He is licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of California (PT) and has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Orthopedic Section since 1991. 

He joined Paul Swanson in 2001 and became a partner of Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy in 2005.  Paul retired in 2013.  

Quinn received board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2007 by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.  He specializes in orthopedic manual therapy and orthopedic and sports injury rehabilitation.

An advocate of continuing education, Quinn has taken numerous short- and long-term post-graduate courses, focusing on injury prevention, injury rehabilitation, sports-specific training, and advanced manual therapy treatment for the spine and extremities.  He is a clinical instructor, mentoring graduate students during clinical internships and educating high school students in the profession of physical therapy.  Quinn is also an assistant instructor educating licensed physical therapists in orthopedic manual physical therapy and clinical exercises through long-term post-graduate coursework.

As an endurance athlete, Quinn has completed several marathons and numerous triathlons (including four Ironman -distance triathlons and three 1/2-Ironman triathlons).

Heavily involved in youth athletics, Quinn has involved himself in the community as a Roseville Girl's Softball Coach, a Roseville Youth Soccer Club (RYSC) Coach, and a Roseville Indoor Soccer Coach.

He has provided strength and conditioning training to RYSC Girl's Select Soccer since 2005, Woodcreek High School Soccer Program since 2011, and served as the  Injury Education Program Coordinator for Placer United Soccer Club in 2008/-2010.  Quinn joined the Galaxy Blues in 2013, and provided conditioning and injury prevention strategies for a number of teams.

He spends time with his wife and two children playing, traveling, and supporting all of their endeavors and celebrating all of their achievements.

From the physical therapy aides to our front office staff, Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy has assembled a team of caring and professional individuals, dedicated to helping you attain your goals.  Working directly with your physical therapist, our physical therapy aides will assist you in your exercise program and help you in any other way needed.  

Each of our physical therapy aides possess a Bachelor's degree or professional certification (or are currently in the process of achieving this goal), and have dedicated themselves to the healthcare profession.  We are proud of our entire staff and the help they consistently provide.

Linda McArthur, BA

Linda graduated from UC Berkeley in 1991 as a psychology major. She quickly began working in a management setting, and fine-tuned her analytical and organizational skills.  

She worked for several years, putting Quinn through graduate school, until the birth of their second child.

Linda recently became the Front Office Manager for Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy, in addition to balancing her time with family and friends.  Linda also serves as our Worker's Compensation Insurance AuthorizationCoordinator.  She works with insurance adjustors, physicians, and medical coordinators to expedite all claims, and help our patients receive care in a timely manner.

Dr. Michael Uriarte joined Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy in 2015.

Mike grew up in up in Upstate New York and moved to California as a teenager. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. During his time in San Luis Obispo, Mike worked with the SLO Special Olympics, Activity4All-Adapted physical activities program, and the Chaplin of the San Luis Obispo Fire Department. In his free time he enjoys biking, fishing, golfing, camping and hiking.

Mike then went on to obtain his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in San Diego California, graduating with honors. He focused on both Manual Therapy and neurological disorders. His internships helped to expand his knowledge base by working at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC, an outpatient physical therapy clinic in New Jersey, and a sub-acute facility in Southern California. 

Mike has a passion for sports and has a passion for working with athletes recovering from injuries. He has taken several advanced spinal and joint manipulation courses, several Kinesiology Taping courses, and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. He has a background working amongst individuals with developmental disorders, spinal cord injuries, post-surgical and sports related injuries.

Annie E. Bates PT, DPT

Dr. Annie Bates joined Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy in 2016.

Annie grew up nearby in Rocklin and returned to California after finishing school in Arizona and Texas. She completed her undergraduate education at Arizona State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in Austin, Texas. Here, she graduated with high honors and received the schools award for Excellence in Manual Therapy. 

Her interests are primarily in orthopedic disorders with an emphasis on manual therapy. Her internships included a long-term acute care hospital in Austin and two outpatient clinics, one in San Antonio and the other in Roseville. Here she further developed her skills as a clinician and expanded her knowledge base. She completed post-graduate level manual therapy courses in spinal and pelvic manipulation and has a background working with a multitude of orthopedic conditions including work and sport related injuries, and post surgical rehabilitation.

Annie has always known she wanted to be a Physical Therapist in an outpatient setting because it gives her the opportunity to work with a large range of patients. Her main goal is improving the function and quality of life of all patients. However, growing up as an athlete she has a special passion for rehabilitation and injury prevention of young athletes. 

Outside of work, Annie enjoys an active lifestyle including hiking, personal fitness, and recreational sports. 

Dr. Sarah Harmon joined SMPT in 2017.

Sarah gres up in the Central Coast area of Santa Maria, California and played competitive travel softball throughout high school. This is where her love for athletics and rehabilitation began. Sarah graduated from San Diego State University in 2011 with a Bachelor in Science degree majoring in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy.  She went on to received a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine For Health Sciences San Marcos campus April 2015. 

She has experience with working with orthopedic, pediatrics, neurological, and TMJ conditions.  Her passion is working with athletes in prevention of injuries.  Sarah utilizes advanced manual therapy techniques, MFR, therapeutic exercises, and other various methods from her experiences and additional coursework to help improve overall functional mobility in her patients.  She wants to further her knowledge by taking continuing education courses with hands-on training for TMJ, Graston, ASTYM, and other various manual courses.  

She enjoys working in an outpatient orthopedic setting and working with patient s of all ages.  Sarah is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.  Sarah recently relocated from Murrieta, California to the Rocklin area with her husband to be closer to family.  She enjoys hiking, wakeboarding, and spending time with her two dogs Kato and Jade.
Jonathan Guinee, PT, DPT

Dr. Jonathan Guinee joined Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy in 2017.

He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Sonoma State University in 2012. Following his educational experience at Sonoma State University, Jonathan attended California State University, Sacramento and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Dr. Guinee's professional mission is to better serve his community and aid others in their path to living life at the highest quality possible. Jonathan believes in building personal relationships with each patient and being fully invested in their well-being and care so they can reach their goals, regain their functional capabilities, and thrive in life. Living a healthy life has drastically changed Dr. Guinee's quality of life for the better, and he hopes to instill the importance of healthy living in all his patients.

Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his wife, being outdoors, road cycling, hiking, and spending time together with their two dogs.
